There are basically 2 types of Breathwork. Mind-based and Body-based Breathwork practices.Â
Mind-based are all practices in which we control our breath with our mind: Pranayama, Box-Breath, Breath of Fire, Wim Hof, etc
Some of these are activating and some of these are regulating practices. They are all great and have value in the moment of performing these.Â
The downside of these practices is, that we go back into our conditioned / maladaptive way of breathing as soon we walk out the door.
Meaning: These practices have a short-term benefit and not being able to support deep neuroplastic changes of ones system.

Body-based is somatic based Breathwork. "Conscious Connected Breathwork" - this is the base of what I am practicing and taught in. Only in the beginning we bring our mind to our breath in order to loop the breath, which means removing the paused after the inhale and exhale. At some point the body takes over and the mind switches of, which changes blood chemistry, creates neuropathways and the way your body system functions.

And still, the Breath Repatterning Method goes even deeper.....
There is a big difference to the "standard" Conscious Connected Breathwork and FBR "Facilitated Breath Repatterning".
In standard "Conscious Connected Breathwork" breathers/clients are guided, in big groups or 1-on-1, to breath in a connected but very intense way. It creates the effect of a peak experience, brings the nervous system into a high arousal state and ends in an altered state of consciousness.Â
Unfortunately, most people are guided to breath way beyond their natural capacity and window of tolerance.Â
From what I see, experienced and studies: True somatic healing, which has long term daily effects, can only happen when the body feels safe and is regulated. This is what I am focusing on: Regulation!
FBR "Facilited Breath Repatterning" is the only method in the world, that actually change the way the nervous system functions.
Only in FBR we are able and trained to read breath machanics and nervous system function in the human body (i.e. how breath is moving in the pelvis floor, diaphragm, chest, throat) and being able to change how the breath is moving through the body.
Only then we can change maladaptive breathing patterns of someone who performed them subconsciously over long phases of their life.
